There will be a public information session on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 625 Mary Street, Clayton, NY 13624, regarding the Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU) method of billing. A summary of the presentation on June 14, 2010 by Carrie Tuttle, Engineering Consultant, will be available. A question-and-answer session will be opened until the start of the regular Village Board meeting at 6:30 p.m.

The public hearing for Local Law #2 and Local Law #3 of 2010 regarding water and sewer billing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2010 at the Municipal Building, 425 Mary Street, Clayton, NY. Prior to the public hearing, an information session will be held at 6:00 p.m. A summary of the presentation on June 14, 2010 by Carrie Tuttle, Engineering Consultant, will be read. A Q&A session will follow. The draft local laws and the Table of Equivalent Dwelling Units may be viewed at the Village Clerk's office or by clicking on the links.

Changes to our Website

We have made several additions to our website in the past few weeks. You can now access copies of our Annual Water Quality Report (AWQR), browse our Asset Management Plan, or take a look at our financial reporting. New pages appear on the menu. The Flag Flying Info menu lists the dates and for whom flags fly at half-staff. We keep this updated whenever the Governor issues an order. Let us know what you think of these additions. The Public Hearing scheduled for Monday, June 14, 2010, on Local Laws #2 (SEWER) and #3 (WATER) of 2010 has been CANCELLED as the laws are not yet ready for the public's consideration. The Public Hearing will be rescheduled when the draft laws have been completed.
A public information meeting will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. to explain the proposed Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU) method of billing.

If you are unsure of your 911 address, which is usually your street address, please contact the Village Clerk at (315) 686-5552. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you to display your 911 Address prominently on your residence to assist emergency personnel in locating you should you require assistance. In the event of an emergency, clearly posting your location will help emergency responders find your home or business faster. A number of emergency response agencies are selling suitable signs at reasonable prices. They are also available at most hardware outlets.

Sidewalk Snow Removal Requirements
December 11, 2007
Pursuant to §110-25 of the Village code, sidewalks must be cleared of snow within 24 hours after the accumulation. Snow removed from sidewalks and driveways shall NOT be placed in the streets, whether by shovel or by snowblower.
In addition, you can help during and after winter storms by making sure any fire hydrants located near your residence or business are clear of snow so the fire department can reach them in an emergency.

Water-Sewer Billing November 1, 2007
October 24, 2007
Water/sewer bills will be sent November 1st to all Village of Clayton water/sewer customers. Payment is due on December 5th without penalty. Payments made after that date will be assessed a 10% penalty. The final date for payment will be January 7th. For accounts not paid in full by January 7th, water service will be terminated with no further notice, and an additional $50 charge will be assessed to the account. In order to restore service, payment must be made to the Village of Clayton by cashier's check, cash or money order during business hours only. There will be an additional $75 charge if service restoration is requested outside of normal business hours. "Shutoff Day" will be Tuesday, January 22nd.
